WebDec 3, 2014 · Bitteroot truss rods with a 1/4" and 3/8" round nose bits is a nice fit and takes very little wood out of the neck. LMI's truss rods compare very favorably to StewMacs, and they use a standard 1/4" bit. The LMI rod is also pretty shallow compared to the SM hot rods, so less wood is removed from the neck.
