Kobalt is currently made by JS Tools out of Las Vegas, NV, but they outsource the tools from Taiwan and China. JS Tools also sells under the brand name "Steelman." WebCraftsman are the best out of that group. Husky is pretty solid, but have a cheaper feel to them. They are a little sloppier etc. Kobalt tools feel really nice and are decent, but I have had a real issue with them being brittle. The Screw drivers tips break off, sockets shatter etc.
